Set within a residential neighbourhood in Hefei, China, Rose Garden Estate is a contemporary private residence inspired by a reinterpretation of modern Italian design principles. Rather than relying on decorative gestures, the project focuses on proportion, materiality, spatial clarity, and craftsmanship to create an environment that supports contemporary luxury living.


The design reimagines the potential of the existing property through a strategic expansion of the lower ground floor, increasing the usable floor area by approximately 30%. By excavating portions of the garden to form sunken courtyards and light wells, natural daylight is introduced deep into the original basement level, transforming previously underutilised spaces into bright and fully habitable living areas.


This intervention enabled the creation of a comprehensive suite of amenities tailored to modern lifestyles, including a media room, games room, gym, sauna, piano room, bespoke shoe gallery, and a range of flexible recreational and storage spaces. Rather than functioning as a conventional basement, the lower level becomes an integral extension of the home, connected visually and spatially to the landscape above.

Throughout the house, the architecture prioritises functionality, comfort, and quality of space. Open-plan living areas are carefully balanced with more intimate family spaces, while natural materials, restrained detailing, and carefully controlled lighting establish a calm and timeless atmosphere. The design language draws inspiration from contemporary Italian residences, where luxury is expressed through spatial generosity, material quality, and everyday usability rather than ornamentation.

Our involvement encompassed concept design, architectural development, visualisation, and interior design direction. From the earliest massing studies through to detailed spatial planning, the project was guided by a commitment to creating spaces that are both elegant and highly functional.

The result is a home where architecture, interiors, and lifestyle are seamlessly integrated—a contemporary residence that redefines luxury through the creation of meaningful, adaptable, and beautifully crafted living spaces.
